“Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.”
~ Luke 9:54-56 (NAS)
Instead of praying fire down on your (earthen) enemies heads, why not surrender them to who’s they really are.
Try placing everyone you have been holding in contempt in the court rooms of your own heart and mind into the hands of the real judge who can discern the hearts and hidden agendas of us all.
Consider giving all of your concerns and worries about others to The Father and Creator of all. Give them all over to Him Who sit’s on The Throne and which is also referred to in the bible as The Mercy seat of God.
One of the most powerful things I believe I have ever come across, growing up as a young man was this ability to see through and discern spirits that were operating around, against and sometimes even through others. I could actually see, feel, smell, hear and discern their influence and the widespread havoc they spread in peoples lives and ministries.
Let me tell you, their work is seriously no laughing matter.
To be able to see through to the heart of a matter, as I like to say in less depth and to discern “the darkness” in which The Apostle Paul was referring to in his letter to the church in Ephesus when he had written;
“We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” ~ Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
To be gifted as “a seer” is nothing less than to be the gift itself to a five fold grace operating ministry of God. (See Ephesians 4:10-13)
A secondary and not by far any less significant grace upon my life has been to see clearly and early on, even as a child, in the scriptures, when I was processing and internalizing The Psalms of King David, was this know how to see David’s heart and prayers and strategies against his own (earthen) enemies, the ones of his own day, living and operating under the old covenant, to be likened unto my own present day equipping as a Christian to do battle with these (spiritual) giants revealed to me in the light of his now even more Glorious New Covenant.
God’s New Covenant that has been based on even better promises than the first. The fruits and grace giftings of The Holy Spirit that is now ours in Christ Jesus just to name a few!
As a believer still called out from time to time to do battle with nothing less than God’s faithful myriads of angelic heavenly hosts hearkening unto my own hearts concerns. When I am surrounded and I have identified the enemies infiltration and I am feeling the need to cry out myself like David, when I have perceived all of the lies and strategies of our “true enemy” operating around, against and even in and through the minds, hearts and mouths of my fellow human beings…
Holding on first tightly to a deep encounter and revelation that I have had of God’s love for others. A deep knowing that even for my enemy (the one Satan is using right now) God sent his son Jesus to carry that cross and die for. I have to then be able to separate this evil from that persons loved and redeemable soul. (See Joel 2:28 or Acts 2:17)
And even in the heat of the battle and as the storm rages on I must recognize my need to first submit myself to God in true, genuine fellowship and communion. I must sup with him so to speak and then I must know the authority given and delegated by God to resist and if need be bring into subjection these dark giants.
Concerning the people who are unknowingly involved in such matters. I like King David’s own heart cry when he prayed like this;
“Don’t kill them, for my people soon forget such lessons; (rather) stagger them with your power, and bring them to their knees, O Lord our shield. Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies.” ~Psalms 59:11-12 (NLT)
Conviction from God that corrects and sets people free from the lies they have been believing and spewing about others is so much more powerful, life changing and effectual than our own condemning and destruction of such people.
You see, today in light of The New Covenant that gives us such eyes to see and ears to hear. We are now waging a war that is no longer won with earthen shield and sword. Neither with bombs and guns. No, today we win souls from the hands of our enemy with our Love and God given authority.
Today we yield a weapon far mightier than the sword wrought from fire and Iron. Today, we speak truth in love that demolishes all the lies of our enemy and our victory, which is his, is seen when we are anointed by God to set captives (people) free from these atmospheres that all of these jealousies, greed, envies, gossip, chatter, strife and pride have been living in and operating through.
In such seasons of war, the air must be cleared and the atmosphere filled with the Presence of God and his heavenly host’s. A mighty truth that King David had already known and that would be a mighty and powerfully effectual weapon of our warfare is that He, God himself inhabits the praises of His people!
There is nothing that will send the enemy fleeing any faster than when God walks into the room. The tangible Presence of God Almighty inhabiting the unified praises and worship of his people is like an atomic bomb going off in the spiritual atmosphere concerning the onslaught and work of the enemy in our minds, hearts and lives.
Thus, the bringing out into the light and demolishing of every lie (devil) that our loved ones thought processes have been being held in bondage to.
You see, our battle isn’t with people. It is with the darkness that has taken captive the minds and hearts of people we are called to love and minster deliverance to.
Beloved people of God that the enemy is trying to use like expendable pawns.
Expendable – of little significance when compared to an overall purpose, and therefore able to be abandoned. (of an object) designed to be used only once and then abandoned or destroyed.
Christ made it real clear whose influence it was that comes to steal, kill and destroy. (See John 10:10)
Other Red Flags to be sensitive to and to recognize his inner workings and influence is that Satan our enemy is;
1.) The Father of Lies. (See John 8:44)
2.) The Author of Confusion. (See 1st Corinthians 14:33)
3.) The Accuser of the brethren. (See Revelations 12:10)
All of the above are tell tale signs that the enemy is alive and well and at rapid work in your life and ministry.
As I like to say, when I see these things manifesting.
“The devils been talking.”
In my next blog, I will speak more on what to do once his activity has been seen and recognized.
Do Not Worry…
There Is Power In The Name of Jesus.
In His Love, Pastor Scott Boggs
