“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ~ Romans 10:9
Have I pondered God’s ability to save all of mankind…Yes.
Am I teaching that he will…No.
When I have pondered Paul’s assertion in Romans 10:9;
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
And his further assertion in Phillipians 2:10-11;
“…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father…”
It has excited me without parallel the idea that at His Majestic Return accompanied with that great cloud of witnesses that all on Earth and under it would have to believe in their heart that he is risen (because seeing is believing) and that when every tongue confess’s that He is (in fact) Lord over us all that all of mankind would be saved and that the devil and all his angels who have been deceiving the whole world would in fact be the goads that will be cast into the lake of fire. (See Matthew 25:41, Revelations 12:9 and Revelations 20:10)
Have I at times been excited and overjoyed out of my socks with the imagery of this…. Yes, Yes Yes!!!
Am I teaching this as a doctrine or telling others that this is how it is going to go down on the final day…. No, No No.
As Paul himself had once said, I too am humble enough to know that we all only know in part and that only then will we all know fully.
So until that Glorious day when My Jesus Returns I will be in content agreement with King Davids own words that so beautifully stated in Psalms 131:1;
“My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp.”
