Amidst unimaginable martyrdom and persecution of the followers of Jesus after Christ’s own crucifixion in the 1st century, these would have been the passages of scripture quoted among the believers to comfort and encourage one another.
I believe they are still applicable today for any modern-day persecution of the followers of Christ
(be that directly attacked or as casualties of war) wherever on earth that may be.
“Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. ~ Amen.” – Matthew 6:9-13
