People who are endorsing further Jewish aggression and conflict with The Palestinians in The Middle East believing that this is somehow the unfolding of The Apostle John’s Revelation don’t even realize that Revelation prophesied the utter destruction of Jerusalem!
“It has been given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for 42 months.” ~ Revelation 11:2
“Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city—figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where their Lord was also crucified.” ~ Revelation 11:8
Nero and Rome (The Beast) trampled Jerusalem and leveled their temple in a 42 month seige of Jerusalem that took place between 66 and 70 A.D.. Almost genociding The Jewish people and leaving their bodies in rivers of blood before burning everything to the ground.
Figuratively calling Jerusalem (the holy city Jesus was crucified in) Sodom and Egypt and referring to Israel as The Great Harlot (who continuely broke their covenant with God) riding the beast (Rome) was a symbolic way for Revelation to prophesy Jerusalem the holy cities total destruction by Rome in 70 A.D. (See Revelation 17).
People wanting to see the events of Revelation (historical past) happen all over again in our day and age are often unknowingly wanting to see Israel’s destruction again. Not their victory.
